Course Two: If You Can Recognise, You Can Visualise (Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert Series).
Course Summary
We are always learning in the wonderful world of Photography, and when it comes to composition, it's never too early, or too late to understand and harness it's many complexities.
Our camera and lenses are the basic tools of our art, just like the palette, the canvas and the paint brush are to the Paint Artist. Like the Painter, it's essential that we Master our tools, yet without the Artists expertise in composition, the impact of our images will never reach their potential.
Composition in Photography and in Painting follow similar rules, and it's important that we as Photographers show more than just a passing interest in each others mediums. In this Course we identify the similarities, as well as the exceptions, and we consider the dimensions of composition unique to our camera and lens.
So, let's take composition back to basics and build our understanding of this essential component. In doing so, we will expand on 'the rule of thirds’, ‘the golden spiral’, and the ‘seven elements of Design' as well as other important rules of composition. We investigate a further 12 important components of Photographic Composition and we unravel the complex relationships between each of them. Like all my Courses, we start as easy as we need to, and gradually we explore, deeper and deeper, as confidence and knowledge allow. In this Course I introduce you to the concept of R.E.V.E.R.E, a process which will help you to exploit previously unrecognised Photographic opportunities.
“Chaos is a name we give to an order which we do not understand”; words which are applicable to many scenarios we might be confronted with as photographers. By the end of this Course you will not feel the urge to walk away from a confrontation with chaos, instead you will rise to the challenge, and in doing so, you may well produce your most unique and stylish work.
